Woodturning Tools

Description

All woodturning tools need to be sharp to work well.

• We grind your tools on a fine grit CBN wheel to give an excellent finish, and remove the burr by hand.
• On your gouges we use the Tormek SVD-85 jig for repeatable grind angles. We will grind your tool to the nearest Tormek standard setting and let you know what that is.
• Alternatively we use the marker pen method to match your grind exactly. Feel free to discuss your requirements with us.
• We grind your skew chisels on the SVS-50 jig to 30 degrees or whatever angle you require. They are then honed on a flat stone to give a mirrored micro bevel that avoids the tool bouncing on the wood.
• Scrapers are ground, have the burr removed, then a hook raised on a Veritas scraper burnisher for a long lasting edge.
